"Where am I?" The question came out suddenly, because as the windshield washers wiped, I didn't see the Bay of Bengal, but instead snowy, harsh mountains. I was freezing. I turned the heater on high, only for there to be a loud crack and a subtle spark. Great. I climbed out of my car, walked around to the trunk, and open it. I quickly grabbed my white Columbia knee-length-ed parka and some white warm boots. I also slipped on mountain climbing spikes onto my shoes for traction. I set off down the mountain.
I was finally entering a small village, after walking 200 miles (impervious to pain-its a spy thing) I collapsed.
"Odd clothing, but she'll be alright. I wonder how she did it? She traveled so far; you can tell." I heard the words of a nice lady. I felt the warmth of the house or bed and breakfast I was in. It was DA-bomb. I felt so weak, it was surreal. I had finally mustered up enough strength to open my eyes. "Honey, are you okay? Were floating down the Indus River as we speak." An Asian women, about 45-55 years old said.
"Are we at the beginning of the river or the end?" I asked.
" Beginning."
"Let me off." And before I knew it, a short trek and swim later I was floating down the Ganges river on a man made raft.
Two days and nights later I saw a faint glow form in front of my raft about 300 yards away. It was an oncoming ship! "We're going to the bay of Bengal- wanna join?" He yelled over the roar of the water.
"Count me in!" I yelled back. My raft was coming closer and closer. I jumped! CRACK! "Ahhhhhhhckk! EEEEEEEEEEEYOW!" Oh no! I broke my wrist. The young sailor that yelled to me picked me up and laid me under the roof onto a soft blanket. I closed my eyes and.....
2 DAYS LATER
I just woke up. My wrist was sore and swollen. I tried bending it to end up screaming in pain. The man from before rushed out from below deck. "we are at the bay of Bengal. Want to get off?" At that precise moment we rounded a turn and I saw hundreds of lavishly decorated boats sitting in the harbor. An hour later we were docked I grabbed my possessions and awaited further instructions.
Looks like it was a rough journey, but you made it!
